Around the Globe

AIVL is supporting networks of people who use drugs (PUD) in Asia to develop their skills, processes and organisations. We work with the Indonesian National Drug Users Organisation – PKNI, the Viet Nam Network of People who Use Drugs – VNPUD, and the Asian Network of People who Use Drugs – ANPUD. PUD in Asia experience extremely high rates of HIV and hepatitis C co-infection. They are also heavily criminalised, and vulnerable to abuses such as extortion, beating and torture, registration, compulsory urine and HIV testing and forced “rehabilitation” for up to five years in what are, essentially, prisons.
