AIVL : Position Vacant
PROJECT OFFICER - REGIONAL PARTNERSHIPS PROJECT

The Australian Injecting & Illicit Drug Users League (AIVL) is seeking to employ a part-time Project Officer for its Regional Partnerships Project, a component of the AusAID funded HIV Consortium for Partnerships in Asia and the Pacific. The position is for fixed-term period to 30 June 2011, with the possibility of an extension should ongoing funding be made available by AusAID. AIVL’s Regional Partnerships Project is focused on working in partnership with peerbased drug user networks and organisations in the Asia region.

Based in AIVL’s Canberra office, the Project Officer will work with the International Program Manager to support the development of the Asian Network of People who Use Drugs (ANPUD), and to respond to the needs of both local and national Asian peer-based drug user organisations as they arise. Regular travel within Australia and to the Asia region will be required.

The position is initially available for 0.8 EFT (30 hours per week) with a commencement salary of $48,000 (EFT) per annum, plus the Employer Superannuation Guarantee of 9% superannuation. Salary packaging and generous terms and conditions are also available. Assistance with the cost of relocating to Canberra, if applicable, may also be negotiated with the successful applicant.

AIVL is a peer-based organisation and encourages people with personal experience of the issues that AIVL represents to apply.

Prospective applicants MUST obtain an application pack prior to applying for this position. The application pack contains a letter to applicants (with instructions on how to apply), position description, selection criteria and additional information about AIVL and the Regional Partnerships Project.

Application packs can be obtained from Faye Irwin at the AIVL office, by calling +61 2 6279 1600 or by emailing fayei@aivl.org.au, or from this webpage (below).
