After treatment can be a positive time, or it can be a depressing period – it depends on whether or not your treatment was successful. However, even if treatment was successful there can be a period of adjustment. It takes some time for the body to recover from coping with the treatment drugs. Some people need time to get used to the fact that their health is no longer of any great interest to the Dr, nurses and clinic; no one wants their blood anymore and no one cares if they feel a little faint.
If treatment was not successful you probably feel bloody pissed off! But that’s not the end of your story. Any time that your body had a break from fighting the virus has helped your liver, even if the response was not sustained. New treatments are being developed at a rapid pace, don’t give up you need to keep monitoring and looking after your liver so when new treatments do become available your liver will be healthy enough to go onto those treatments – it won’t help to go on a weekly bender… try monthly!
